The trip to Ytre Fure offers a unique journey into the heart of Stad's coastal heritage. The tour takes visitors from Indre Fure to Ytre Fure, a remote and abandoned farm that once supported generations of hardy coastal farmers and fishermen.

Learn about the history of Ytre Fure, which was finally abandoned after World War II, and hear tales of the people who lived there, their struggles, and their connection to the land and sea.

Along the way, guides share stories about daily life in these isolated communities, including how families survived the harsh climate, relied on the sea, and maintained their traditions through centuries.

The walk goes from the farm and out along the sea.
The sea path out to Ytre Fure is sometimes well-paved and easy to follow, but the path can also be somewhat "airy" and challenging for those who are afraid of heights or have problems with balance.

The guided tour starts and ends at our office in Selje. Here you can park your car, store personal belongings safe and change clothing.
We can be helpful with transportation if needed to/from Selje and also from our office in Selje to the start of the trail.
